AskSARA is an award-winning online self-help guide providing expert advice and information on products and equipment for older and disabled people. AskSARA is easy to use. Simply:
- Choose which subject you would like help and support with
- Answer some questions about yourself and your environment
AskSARA will produce a free personalised report providing:
- Clear, tailored advice written by experts on ways to help with daily activities and staying independent in your home
- An impartial list of products and equipment, specific to your needs, with information on where to get them
- Further help and contacts for more information
- An option to save your report and share it with family, friends and care workers.

This website is licensed from the Disabled Living Foundation DLF part of Shaw Trust a charity registered in England and Wales 287785 and Scotland SCO39856. DLF host and support the website as part of its suite of versions of AskSARA. AskSARA (self-assessment rapid access) is a free service that enables people to identify suitable equipment for daily living, DLF is responsible for the content and design of the site, some of the information is provided by the licensee.
Users who are unable to access the website can contact DLF’s free Helpline by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone Monday to Friday 10 am to 4 pm by phoning 0300 999 0004.
Information and advice can be provided by email, verbally or by post. The product-based information is provided by their suppliers and the advice is written by Occupational Therapists. DLF complies with the Information Standard a quality standard of the NHS https://www.england.nhs.uk/tis/
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard.
DLF is committed to ensuring that older and disabled people, their carers and the professionals that support them have full access to our information and advice about equipment for daily living and so we are currently working to produce a new version of the AskSARA service which we expect to be made available by April 2020. This new AskSARA will be mobile-responsive, designed to be accessible by users of mobile devices.
